The ItSticks Story
Itsticks started as all great things started, from a random conversation with my dad. You know the ones where they say something silly like we should sell an alarm clock, that makes you toast or legs for soap so that it runs away instead of sliding. All in all just fun what ifs.
However one fathers day I thought it would be fun to actually make one of those silly ideas as a gift for him. But from so many choices to choose from I was at a loss and that's when it hit me the perfect silly idea, Itsticks hats a hat for all your hats.
If I couldn't pick one idea, i’d pick them all, I wanted to encapsulate all of our dumb ideas and inside jokes in a way that was memorable.
So I logically took the next step and spent 20 hours learning how to sew, it may have been grueling but I knew it would be the perfect gift for someone who recently had to throw out hats because he didn't have room in his closet.
I knew he had particular tastes in what hats he liked to wear so when I was making his hat I aimed to make it as comfortable and durable as possible.
But all the blood sweat and tears were worth it to see his face light up when he finally saw our silly idea brought to life.
His days of boring dad jokes were over he could now have them ready “off the top of his head” or rather off the top of his cap, but it didn't stop there he could change them on the fly with patches like “What do you call a Frenchman wearing sandals? Philipe Fallop.” to “Why can't dinosaurs clap their hands? Because they're extinct.” There was no end to our torment. The perfect fathers day.
Yet what changed this silly idea from a gift to business was what he said after “I wonder if other people would like this!” and with that Itsticks was born, a customizable hat patch business designed to stick a smile on your face.
